This class action seeks the reimbursement of the amounts that Canadian consumers and businesses (including law firms) have disbursed to accept collect calls processed by Bell Canada that were not indicated in the contract, in violation of the Civil Code of Quebec, Canada’s Competition Act, as well as the Consumer Protection legislation across Canada. The law requires that Bell Canada disclose the collect call rates to class members in advance, which it never does.

Class:
All natural and legal persons in Canada who received a collect call processed by Bell Canada since September 25th, 2014.
Subclass:
All natural and legal persons in Canada who, since September 25th, 2014, received a collect call processed by Bell Canada and were charged an amount greater than $1.00.
Remedies sought
This class action seeks the full reimbursement of the collect call fees paid to Bell Canada, as well as punitive damages for the exploitation of consumers.
